Mustang Tiji Festival is one of the most important and colorful festivals of the upper Mustang region. It is a three- day ritual celebrated in the upper Mustang (Lo Mustang). Tiji is the kind of festival that exist the word ‘ten che’ represent “the hope of Buddha dharma” presenting in the world and as every other festival, celebrates the success victory of god over evil. Tiji festival is a colorful tenchi festival which take place annually and is believe that people of Lo Manthang started to celebrate this festival from 15 century on the time of Lama Lowo Khenchen (greatest Buddhist tracher and son of King Amgon Sangpo)

 Mustang Tiji festival is known as “The Chasing of the Demons” and is centered on the Tiji myth. It is said that the diving being named Dorje Jono who must battle against his demon father to save the Kingdom of Mustang from destruction. It is celebrated as asking god for water and good crops. Villagers from all over ancient kingdom of Mustang come to watch the dance of monks with masks and traditional dress which supposedly drive the evil spirits away.

The Mustang Tiji Festival trekking is an exotic tour of ancient Tibetan Villages, rare medieval Buddhist arts, unique beauty of the Himalayan desert, the exotic culture, ochre valley, yak caravans, colorful- painted mud brick houses, arid valleys, majestic mountain of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna etc. The journey starts from Jomsom enjoying the natural diversity of the villages of Kagbeni, Chele, Ghiling and Chharang to Lo-Manthang.
